Junior Blasters

Age 5 – 7 Boys & Girls

Junior Blasters is for kids new  to cricket with participants building their skills through fun, game based activities. The games are designed for small groups to ensure every child gets a go, allowing them to test and learn new skills. When they have mastered the basics, they will be ready to graduate to Master Blasters where they can play modified games of cricket.

The Junior Blasters program provides players with a t-shirt with your name on it, bucket hat in your choice of Big Bash team colours, plastic bat, rubber ball and trophy.

Upon registration, each Junior Blasters player is allocated to a team based on his / her school year.

WJCC Junior Blasters season runs for 12 weeks with a weekly duration time of 60 minutes from October to March, breaking for the Christmas / school holidays.

The first 6 weeks involves skill development activities up until Christmas on Saturday mornings at MacDonald Park then after Christmas, we play a game format on Friday nights under the lights at MacDonald Park.

Players use plastic stumps, plastic bats and rubber balls with the purpose of teaching the basic cricket skills of bowling, batting and fielding.

The format allows parents and coaches to interact with participants. We encourage parents to get involved with their kids and to assist the coach. Friday nights are great family picnic
nights. There’s even a Parents vs Kids event.

Whitfords Junior Blasters Player Packs

As part of the program, participants are provided with the Cricket Australia Woolworths Junior Blasters participant packs. The packs are included in the registration fee and will be posted to your registered address.
